Foreign e-Service companies liable for VAT

               On 10 February 2021, the e-Service Act or the Revenue Code (amendment no. 53) of Thailand has been approved by the Thailand’s Parliament and published in the government gazette.

               Starting on 1 September 2021, overseas business operators providing online services into Thailand including offering download services for movies, games and ads, e-Commerce businesses ( eBay, Alibaba and Amazon), multimedia and advertisement businesses ( Google, Facebook, TikTok and Line), digital content businesses ( Netflix, Iflix, Joox, and Spotify), software businesses ( Apple and Andriod), online structure businesses (Cloud), financial businesses (Paypal) and etc. will be required to register and subjected to 7% valued added tax (“VAT”) liability where its annual income exceeds 1.8 million baht. link
