Postponement the submission of audited financial statements to DBD
Corporate
As the current outbreak of the COVID-19 situation affected corporate law compliance, especially the annual general meeting of shareholders (“AGM”), the Department of Business Development (“DBD”) has issued relief measures to relieve affected entities in meeting their corporate obligations during this crisis.
➢ Limited companies, non-listed limited companies, and partnerships may delay their AGM for up to four months after the end of the fiscal year and file their financial statements within one month of the postponed AGM date.
➢ Registered partnerships, foreign companies, and joint ventures shall file their audited financial statement within 5 months of the end of the accounting period. However, the DBD allows these entities whose accounting year falls between December 1 and December 31, 2020 to extend the deadline for submitting audited financial statements to the DBD via e-filing. The timeline for submitting their audited financial statements and other related document is extended until June 30, 2021.
