Thailand Vaccine Passport Policy
Tourism Authority of Thailand (“TAT”) and Public Health Center are in the process of considering approval of a Vaccine Passport. They believe that Vaccine Passport could revive the devastated tourism sector in Thailand. Also, at this moment, Thailand is looking to the World Health Organization (“WHO”) to announce Vaccine Passport worldwide before Thailand makes decision on this matter.
By having Vaccine Passport, TAT would allow foreign visitors to bypass quarantine of 14 days. A tourist is allowed to leave a room after 3 days of self-isolation. It could lead to 5 million tourists arriving in Thailand within the year of 2021. Russians could be the first to visit Thailand with Vaccine Passport, as tour agents in Russia, provided that the demand is high enough to support regular a flight of between 300 and 400 passengers.
