Challenges from geopolitical tensions, US tariffs, and shifts range from multilateral to bilateral trade deals, stressing the need to leverage FTAs and prepare for the digital and green economies.
Growing US–China rivalry and supply chain decoupling, noting tariffs will remain part of US policy even after Donald Trump. He advised Thailand is to maintain balanced ties with both powers while expanding trade with other partners, potentially by joining the CPTPP. Liberalising agricultural imports, modernising farming, upgrading logistics, and shifting growth drivers from exports to a wellness economy are required.
