On 5 July 2024, the Contract Committee issued its notification regarding the business of providing good delivery services by collecting money at destination as a controlled business B.E. 2567 (the “Notification”), entering into force from 3 October 2024.
When the product is delivered, a destination charge is collected from the consumer. The consumer can pay in cash or transfer money to the account of the service provider.
According to Clause 4 of the Notification, payment proof for shipping services by collecting money on delivery issued by the business operator to consumers. There must be text in Thai that can be seen and read. The text that contains important information and conditions, such as details about the product sender and the business operator.
Finally, the Notification provides the consumer right to refuse to receive the product or receive a refund for the product in the event (i) the consumer receives incorrect or defective product: The business operator receives the returned product from the consumer and refund the money (ii) the consumer receives unordered product delivered with payment on delivery: The consumer can return the product to the sender for an immediate refund.
